1911- Idea proposed for national union for all motorcycle actvities in New Zealand
1914- World War One begins

1916- New Zealand Auto Cycle Union (NZACU)formed - Palmerston Nth April 22nd.

          NZACU first conference August 16th - Dannevirke
        NZACU first President - Gus Torstensen (Manawatu Club)

1918- World War One Ends

1919- Influenza Epidemic

1925- rules revised and the NZACU becomes an Incorporated Society


1929- Stock Market Crash - Great Depression begins


1930- NZACU becomes affiliated to the ACU of Great Britain

1931- First New Zealand major Road Race - The New Zealand Tourist Trophy Race on Waiheke Island .  
1936- First New Zealand Grand Prix run at Cust in North Canterbury .

1939- World War two begins


1941- NZACU placed in recess for the duration of World War 2 . 30th June 


1945- World War Two Ends

1945- NZACU reconvenes after end of World War 2 . 30th September 

1949- Speedway Control Board formed to look after two wheeled Speedway.


1951 first cemetery circuit road race in Wanganui, still running today
1954 Rod Coleman becomes first Kiwi to win an Isle of Man TT race
1954- Ronnie Moore becomes New Zealand's first World Champion (Speedway)
1955- Russell Wright and Bob Burns set world speed record for Solo and Sidecar at Tram Road , North Canterbury.

1957- Barry Briggs wins The FIM World Speedway Championship
1958- Barry Briggs wins The FIM World Speedway Championship
1959- Ronnie Moore wins the FIM World Speedway Championship

1961- Woodville Motocross race meeting is started and still running in 2016

1963- Hugh Anderson wins the FIM World 50cc and 125cc Road Racing Championship
1964- Hugh Anderson wins the FIM World 50cc Road Racing Championship
          Barry Briggs wins the FIM World Speedway Championship
1965- Hugh Anderson wins the FIM World 125cc Road Racing Championship
1966- NZACU 50th Jubilee April 16th-17th - Palmerston North
          Barry Briggs wins the FIM World Speedway Championship

1968- Ivan Mauger wins the FIM World Speedway Championship
1969- Ivan Mauger wins the FIM World Speedway Championship
1970- Ivan Mauger wins the FIM World Speedway Championship
1972- Ivan Mauger wins the FIM World Speedway Championship

1973- Marlboro International Road Racing Series begins and runs for five years till 1978.
1974- The First Castrol 6 Hour Production Race is run at Manfeild . Won by Ginger Molloy

1977- Ivan Mauger wins the FIM World Speedway Championship
1979- Ivan Mauger wins the FIM World Speedway Championship

1980-Graeme Crosby wins the World  TT Formula One Championship
1981-Graeme Crosby wins the World  TT Formula One Championship

1983- NZACU becomes affiliated to the FIM . 
 Ending 53 years as an affiliate of ACU of Great Britain , New Zealand riders could now compete overseas as a New Zealand rather than English rider .

1984- Past President Ken Duncan was NZACU's first representative to the FIM World Congress which was held in Munich Germany.


1986/87 - NZACU proposes a World Superbike Championship be initiated.


1988- The NZACU purchases and opens it's very own office in Huntly. 

          The FIM  World Superbike Championship at Manfeild begins.
          The last Castrol 6 Hour Production Race is run at Manfeild . Winners Tony Rees/Dave Hicks
1989- The FIM World Superbike Championship at Manfeild
1990- The FIM World Superbike Championship at Manfeild
1991- NZACU hosts the FIM World Congress in Christchurch
1992- The FIM World Superbike Championship at Manfeild

1994- NZACU changes name to Motorcycling New Zealand Inc .
          Errol Conaghan becomes first MNZ President

1996- Shayne King Wins FIM 500cc World Motocross Championship

2000-


2003-  FIM World Long Track Speedway Final - New Plymouth
2004-  FIM World Long Track Speedway Final - New Plymouth
           Ben Townley Wins FIM World MX2 World Championship

2006-  FIM International 6 Day Enduro - Taupo

           Katherine Prumm wins FIM World Women's Motocross Cup

2007- Tony Cooksley wins FIM World Veterans Motocross Cup

2009 - FIM World Junior Motocross Championship - Taupo

           Katherine Prumm wins FIM World Women's Motocross Cup

2012- FIM World Speedway Championship Opening Round - Western Springs
          Darryl King wins FIM World Veterans Motocross Championship

2013- FIM World Speedway Championship Opening Round - Western Springs
          Jake Lewis wins European Junior Road Racing Cup

2014-FIM World Speedway Championship Opening Round - Western Springs

2015-Avalon Biddle wins European FIM Womens Cup
